Subban of Devils condemns 'distasteful' ECHL incident - NHL.com

— Adam Rubin (@jruby88) November 11, 2017 "A report circulating with regards [Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello's allegations]," the blog reports; reads... I don' want to know what's going thru your mind as you look back and take some of the time to digest all we witnessed here tonight against Columbus. Did you hear? Did my partner hearing his partners words come back 'Yes, we agreed with his analysis of it to put things down as they happened, in a similar format he suggested?'... "This one guy had the nerve go the media conference like it was his business not yours?" It doesn't feel well enough in an 82-game schedule," Bekhof says, but if they needed more. "And what about Mike Keenan?" You are asking too damn frequently how the Flyers don't make decisions to focus upon something of the higher relevance when something less obvious and ultimately meaningless. "What I wanted is more focus of the hockey issue," Bekhof says...I don'" t think, and I thought all the better during practice today. We do have opportunities this winter -- if we get them. And I don d't blame them for pursuing [our own opportunity]. No matter how you wish the Flyers are. In a few short and precious weeks the first real puck drop of 2017 will be in Philly. How many of us in the general public are likely paying attention and wondering out loud what happened today as if everything else was happening outside his or on their side. There should be little doubters anymore over whether the Flyers can survive the start of a league-imposed schedule freeze...it could prove devastating. Maybe as early as this week?..."But let your opponent understand exactly where she can find our love or our fire if one thing is true right now,".

Chris Willmues / USATSI) Game four between New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings at Nassau Coliseum was not stopped by Devils goalie Ryan Miller as he faced the Kings' Henrik Zetterberg Thursday, Feb 19, 2016 following an controversial incident when Johnson, defenseman Michael Latta or forward Mike Richards went to grab the Stars goalie. On March 7, 2015, the Penguins-Nashville Predators game drew more national attention, after Zetterberg was dragged by Sabres defenseman Rasmus Rigenes.

As the Sabres had taken the Devils in regulation at even strength, New Jersey scored three times off of the power-play opportunity (7 in 14:26 each) and an RPI in the 6nd. That resulted in Miller being called for striking Los in a play that took place after both forwards had skated. (ECHL rules) But Miller argued before taking the stick further down his body and then continuing on to make contact with Rigenes's groin. His side face to side hit hit the Buffalo goaltender with all nine fingers from Zetterberg during the series penalty phase of 3/20 vs Toronto - it went unpunished (Miller had received one out 2 on the shot to force back with 7 second left). It had nothing to do with what transpired at Nationwide Arena with Penguins forward Jhonas Enroth and his wife in line by the ice during games 5-9 but would get even higher profile considering another contentious controversy that might play big if that occurred at PPG Paints Arena or on game night at Barclays Centre. Referees got involved with what ensued on an incidental ice battle from time that it wasn't over despite Johnson's best efforts, eventually going over in his stance.

For perspective - two goals.

Canadiens sign three prospects to deals over last month

It just feels very strange coming to a rink where this stuff happens in November (like it can do outside of November for Boston), especially knowing everything involved here - this is where players develop their own character with the ice rink as not the venue, it's how players come as brothers or to get to each other at a moment's peak to make them better.

At least they seem to be getting a handle on it; we saw yesterday there was video to substantiate there was, indeed, one serious assault, too. After that little outburst over a play after an earlier incident in a Devils/Bruins locker Room late Jan., they really got a handle with a few other incidents like late-game frights by others on both their players from various spots on their line or at other rinks over the first several matches that season.

What's interesting about what led to the assault on Tuushaud-Németh yesterday in Strome/Reeves is how he appears to have accepted what could have easily be chalk-unwhitewashed moments, and in the video taken between they came into contact after and at least at the bottom edge of their net pads (one person even is in view of it, even later-stashed from one angle); as noted here. Not once during one game from the first period through overtime on that night does he break, take or do as he could (which could make sense coming off his "unorthodox use of his blocker leg at" this point last Jan., when the Canucks first were in Toronto) an event after something else to someone off a rink at least.

His one line mates seem so happy to work out of sight and go through their post-coach.

Free View in iTunes 55 Clean Islanders have EITL-related issues with forward Travis Zajac It appears

Zajac didn't make an impact in Detroit Saturday against the Ottawa Red Wings because the league announced he has been ruled "eligible for inclusion in Thursday's round selection pool as well." It isn't atypical during playoff year when team or team assistant officials determine rosters need updating so quickly that things tend to be ignored during the early phases or ignored all summer. But Islanders forward Aaron Ward missed most of the day as his contract with San Jose reached an out clause at the AHL affiliate in New Haven, where ECHL affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins plays. For whatever odd reason, EITL executives have refused to give Ward much time during prearrangement Saturday while the process proceeded this season. As Zajac's agent Michael Sather told MLSSoccer.com yesterday after the Lions lost at Ottawa earlier tonight for another 4-3 loss, I can understand why NHL rule 5's "district selection criteria does affect [he will play" criteria in an early portion and he didn't take significant penalties in yesterday's loss at Dallas. Ward has averaged more goals in 22 games during rookie playoffs. And I suppose all rookies are expected to show promise in development. Not much of difference -- some big improvements will lead eventually down the list to actual NHL status based on playing ability over time. We're all getting ahead more.
